We are writing to provide you an update about the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19). As I am sure you are all aware this process has been changing hourly and we are doing everything we can to keep you up to date. We are currently working with local, regional and statewide agencies to ensure we have the most current information and are following their recommendations. Please reference your school’s website for up to the minute changes and information. We will provide SAU specific information, for information on the ongoing COVID-19 issue please go directly to the CDC or NH DHHS website.
All school-sponsored sporting events have been postponed
All out of area field trips have been postponed
All large gatherings have been postponed
Check your school’s web calendar for details and current information
We are actively working with all of our local and regional agencies to make sure we are up to date and doing what is best for our students, staff and, community. We are balancing the many negative impacts that closing schools would have on everyone with the potential mitigation that closing schools for a time would create. Our decisions will be based on what is best for our communities using the support of our local agencies, NH DHHS, NH DOE, and the CDC. That said we are working on plans that will address the needs of all our stakeholders as we navigate this tortuous path.
We are actively working on contingency plans
Remote and online lessons are being developed
Policies are being addressed so that we can be more responsive to the needs of our students, staff, and community.
We are working on a way for students to pick up food if we have to close for a period of time
You can expect that most events will be postponed or canceled while we deal with this current issue.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
David Backler, Superintendent
