School Board Meeting Minutes

June 2, 2005

 

School Board Present:  Andrew Mullins, Chair, Patricia Shute and Jacqueline Quintal

Staff Present:  Norman Roberge, Claudia Daniels, Michael Giroux, Kari Goulet, Kelly Pike, Isabelle Neal, Lisa Morse, Paula Labrecque, Karen Patry and Barbara Mortenson.

Central Office Present: Patrick Low, Superintendent

 

Andrew Mullins called the meeting to order at 2:45 p.m.

 

The Board received a letter from a teacher requesting a non-public meeting with the teachers, the Board and the Superintendent.  Mr. Low advised that until we knew the purpose of the meeting we could not go into non-public.

 

The teachers expressed concern about the false rumors floating around about the Milan Village School, its staff, its morale.  The teachers expressed their support of the principal and the programs presently in place.  They are worried about the continuation of these initiatives when a new principal is hired.

 

The Board indicated its support for the programs and its intention that these programs are to continue with a new principal.  Mr. Low concurred, citing that these programs were showing improvements at the school and that he too, supported their continuance.

 

The Board received a letter from Lisa Morse, Claudia Daniels, and Mike Giroux regarding an unpaid day for training in JGB.  Patrick will look into the matter.

 

The Board voted to go into non-public at 4:00 p.m.

 

Motion by Jacqueline Quintal and second by Patricia Shute

Motion: To go into non-public under RSA

Vote:  Role call vote taken; all in favor.

 

Motion by Patricia Shute and second by Jacqueline Quintal

Motion: To come out of non-public at 5:21 p.m.

Vote:  All in favor.

 

No action taken in non-public.

 

Motion by Patricia Shute and second by Jacqueline Quintal to adjourn the meeting at 5:22 pm.  All in favor, meeting adjourned.
