Minutes 03/04/04

 

The Milan Village School met in regular session on Thursday, March 04, 2004, at the Milan Village School, Milan, NH.  In attendance:  Andrew Mullins, Patricia Shute, Jacqueline Quintal.  Also:

Steven Welford, Pauline Plourde and Susan Enman (recording secretary).

 

I.          Call to Order:  Andrew Mullins called the meeting to order at 2:40 p.m.

 

II.        Non-Public Session RSA 91-A:311 Section C

 

                        Motion by Jacqueline Quintal – Seconded by Patricia Shute

                        MOTION:  to go into non-public session under RSA 91-A:311 Section C

                        at 2:43 p.m.

                        Vote on motion:  Roll call taken; all in favor

 

                        *Voluntary employee resignation discussed

                        *Personnel issues discussed

                        *Personnel restructuring discussed

 

                        Motion by Patricia Shute – Seconded by Jacqueline Quintal

                        MOTION:  to come out of non-public session under RSA 91-A:311 Section C

                        at 5:02 p.m.

                        Vote on motion:  Roll call taken; all in favor

 

                        Motion by Jacqueline Quintal – Seconded by Patricia Shute

                        MOTION:  to accept the resignation of the school nurse with regret

                        Vote on motion:  All in favor

 

 

                        Patricia Shute left at 5:30 p.m.

III.       Other

            *Transportation Contract

 

                        Motion by Jacqueline Quintal – seconded by Andrew Mullins

                        MOTION:  to accept the transportation contract in the amount of $79,724.00

                        Vote on motion:  All in favor

 

            The School Board signed the transportation contract.

 

            *Building Update

            Mrs. Plourde handed out calculations of sum due and payable from Wrenn Associates.

            The Business Administrator handed out copies of the revised letter to Wrenn Associates, which,

            had been amended at the meeting held on March 01, 2004. 

            The problems still existing in the building were discussed.  Options of looking into pricing from an

            engineering firm to look over the building and the SPECS given by Wrenn was discussed.

            Mrs. Plourde read a letter she had received from CertainTeed pertaining to roof inspection, ice

            buildup and problems with thermal imaging.

 

            Mrs. Welford informed the School Board that he is writing a separate letter that he plans on

            distributing at the individual school district meetings due to a glitch in the SAU office where the

            letter addressed to “The Citizens of Gorham” was place in all the district annual reports.

IV.       Next meeting: 

            The next Milan School Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 6:30 p.m.

            at the Milan Village School, Milan, NH.
