Errol School Board

Minutes 03/13/04

 

The Errol School Board met after the Annual School District meeting on Saturday, March 13, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., at the Errol Town Hall, Errol, NH.  Present:  Norman Eames and Gloria Coffin.  Also:  Steven Welford, Pauline Plourde, Rebecca Hebert-Sweeny, Kathleen Urso, and Susan Enman (recording secretary).

 

I.             Call to Order:  Mr. Eames called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m.

 

II.            Approval of January 19, 2004 minutes:

 

                                Motion by Gloria Coffin – Seconded by Norman Eames

                                MOTION:  to approve the minutes of January 19, 2004 as written

                                Vote on motion:  All in favor

 

III.          Communications:  No communication at this meeting.

 

IV.          Superintendent’s Report:

                The Superintendent reported that the Winter Carnival was very nice and events went well. 

                Mr. Welford informed the School Board that the budget will be monitored in order to project a

                a fund balance, which, will be discussed with them in order to know what will be done with this

                balance.  The Superintendent suggested that the Principal and School Board members look at

                 projects that need  to be completed. 

 

V.            Principal’s Report:

                *Mrs. Urso reported that enrollment is holding steady with 22 students.   At this time, there will be

                three  eighth grade students graduating in June.

                *Advertisements have gone out for a part-time nurse and a part-time librarian.  Mrs. Urso              clarified  that the nursing advertisement is due to the need of a special education student requiring            a one-on-one nurse for 3.50  hours a day, five days a week and that the nurse who is currently                 employed by the school district will remain in her position.  Therefore, there will be two nurses

                employed at the Errol Consolidated School.

                *The Principal reported that both a safety inspection and a sprinkler system inspection had been

                done.  There are a few minor repairs needed, which, will be taken care of. 

                *The winter carnival held in February was enjoyed by staff, students, and parents.  The annual

                Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser raised over two hundred dollars.  Mrs. Urso also mentioned

                that Cameron Broad was  the spelling bee champion.  Cameron  will be representing the Errol      Consolidated School at the regional finals  for  the Union Leader Spelling Bee in Littleton on          Sunday, March    21st.

VIII.       Next Meeting: 

                The next Errol School Board meeting will be held Monday, April 19, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at the

                Errol Consolidated School, Errol, NH.
