DUMMER SCHOOL BOARD

MINUTES 08/11/03

 

 

The Dummer School Board met in regular session on Monday, August 11, 2003, at the Dummer Town Hall, Dummer, NH.  Present:  Joane Belleau, Diane Labbe.  Also:  Steven Welford and Susan Enman (recording secretary).

 

I.          Call to Order:  Joane Belleau called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m.

 

II.            Approval of June 9, 2003 minutes: 

            Diane Labbe transcribed minutes of June 9, 2003.

 

                        Motion by Diane Labbe – Seconded by Joane Belleau

                        MOTION:  to accept the minutes of June 9, 2003

                        Vote on motion:  All in favor

 

III.       New Business:

 

            Joane Belleau mentioned that she had not received information she asked for at last

            meeting on the RSA’s  pertaining  to non-public sessions.

            Mrs. Belleau also did not receive information from Dr. Caldon pertaining to the

            high costs of preschool tuition.

 

IV.       Old Business:

            *Milan Minutes:

            *Milan Principal’s report:

 

            Mrs. Belleau asked about the progress of the new school building.  Mr. Welford reported

            that a meeting was being held  the next day, at which time,  a new offer would be made to

            Wrenn Associates.  The Superintendent noted that there was a problem with mud coming

            in through one of the doors on the playground side.  A discussion was held pertaining to

            the groundwork that still needed to be done.  Mr. Welford stressed the importance for the

            completion of the inside of the building before the first day of school. 

 

V.            Superintendent’s Report:

            Introduction of Interim Superintendent:

            Steven Welford introduced himself to the school board.  He gave them a brief outline of

            his background. 

            Milan Building Project:  As discussed above

            Financial Report: 

            Steven Welford reported a fund balance at the end of the school year of $158,140.89.  It

            was noted that a great portion of  this fund balance was due to the transfer of            $113,618.78  from the Capital Reserve Fund.

VI.       Next Meeting:

            Mr. Welford asked the school board if they had a set day of the month to schedule their

            meetings.  Diane Labbe and Joane Belleau informed the Superintendent that the Dummer

            School Board meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month.

 

            The next Dummer School Board meeting will be held tentatively as a joint meeting with

            the Milan School Board members on Monday, September 08, 2003, at 6:30 p.m. at the

            Milan Village School, Milan, NH.

 

VII.            Adjournment:

                        MOTION:  to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
