The Dummer School
Board met in regular session on Monday, December 08, 2003, at the
Dummer Town Hall,
Dummer, NH 03588. Present:
Joane Belleau, Diane Labbe, and
Mariann Letarte. Also:
Pauline Plourde, Rebecca Hebert-Sweeny, and Susan Enman
(recording secretary).
I. Call to Order: Joane
Belleau called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m.
II. Approval of
November 10, 2003 minutes:
Motion by Mariann Letarte – Seconded
by Diane Labbe
MOTION: to approve the minutes of November 10, 2003 as
written.
Vote on motion: All in favor
III. Approval of
Vouchers:
Motion by Diane Labbe – Seconded by
Mariann Letarte
MOTION: to approve the vouchers as presented

IV. Communications:
Joane Belleau asked how a home schooled
student receives direction on school
programs. Mrs. Hebert-Sweeny explained the procedures and regulations of
home schooled students.
Joane Belleau stated that she would talk to
Mary Guay pertaining to her
appointment as school district
treasurer.
Motion by Diane Labbe – Seconded by Mariann
Letarte
MOTION: to appoint Mary Guay as the Treasurer for
the Dummer School District.
Vote on motion: All in favor
Joane Belleau reported that she had received
a letter from Katie Kelley (Chair-
person of the SAU 20 School Board)
explaining the procedure to be followed by
the Superintendent in order for him
to get paid. Mrs. Belleau expressed her
disappointment to Mrs. Kelley
over the Superintendent’s late arrivals for scheduled
meetings. Mrs. Kelley told Mrs. Belleau
that she would pursue this issue
and would also set up an appointment for
the Superintendent to meet with the
Dummer Selectmen.
V. Superintendent’s
Report:
*Budget Review-Mrs. Plourde reviewed the budget.

The Business Administrator handed out
replacement sheets for the budget as well
as the revised tuition list. After review of the tuition list, the
School Board decided to remove
three students who will be moving to
Milan soon.
Mrs. Hebert-Sweeny reviewed section
504 and the special education portion of
the budget, and also reviewed
occupational and physical services provided per
level.
Line item 10-100-2160-3230-15 was
reduced to $120.00 due to less services
needed during the extended school
year.
The district official stipends were
compared with similar districts.
It was decided to raise the
following stipends:
*School District Treasurer will
receive $100.00 per year.
*School Board Members will receive
$200.00 each per year.
*Town Clerk and Moderator salaries
will be increased to $25.00 per year.
*Liability insurance was removed
from budget
*Advertising line was increased due
to past expenses
Mrs. Belleau mentioned that she
would like the school district to purchase a file
cabinet. This file cabinet will be kept in the designated school board room in
the old library of the Town Hall. This was agreed upon by all School Board
Members.
*Transportation contract increased
by 2%
*It was decided to increase the
tuition expendable trust to $40,000.00
Mrs. Plourde informed the school
board that she predicted the State Education
Adequacy grant will be $129,000.00.
Mrs. Plourde reviewed the financial
statement ending November 30, 2003,
which, reflected a fund balance of $42,131.66.
VI. Public Comments:
No communication at this time.
VII. *Other:
The school board members stated that they
had received many phone calls from
people regarding the lack of
communication that had occurred when school had
been cancelled. Discussion was held on what could be done to
better the
communication in case of another
cancellation. It was decided to devise
a call
list and divide amongst the school
board members.

IX. Next Meeting:
